21st Century Grant

To Everyone in Our School Community (Parents, Students, Families, Faculty, Staff, & Community Members),

Northern Elementary School is developing a grant proposal to establish a 21st Century Community Learning Center (21st CCLC), funded by the US Department of Education through the Kentucky Department of Education. If we are selected for funding, our 21st CCLC Program will provide a variety of services to students in 3rd through 5th grade and their families.

Students who attend private school and those who are homeschooled are eligible to participate in services at the 21st CCLC centers. Student services will provide academic, artistic, and cultural enrichment opportunities, including:

  • Homework help /tutoring
  • Academic intervention in literacy and mathematics
  • Academic enrichment opportunities
  • Arts activities
  • STEM activities
  • Sportsmanship and wellness activities (basketball and soccer)

Family services will include family literacy, parent involvement in education, and learning opportunities, including:

  • How to help your child with homework
  • Job Skills
  • Family Literacy activities
